Books, books, and more books
For some reason of late, I've been getting a lot of e-mails asking me about my books...not the ones I've written, but rather the ones I own. People have wanted to know what I've read, what subjects interest me, how many books I own...and so on.
So, rather than going into detailed answers, I figured I'd post pictures of my bookshelves. They're raw, and you can't read some of the titles, but I figured it was worth posting...

I got some of those myself.
Don't know how well your sci-fi RPG is coming along, but I figured this might interest you some. My gaming group has started to set up pages for our various campaigns. It helps us to build up the worlds as well as communicate with each other. We have fun with it all.
This is the latest one, for my cross-dimensional mystery that we are doing right now.

Just thought you might be interested. Don't know if there is a way to use such sites as part of the marketing of the RPG, but it might be something to think about.
So how is the RPG coming along?
The game is progressing slowly. Both my co-creator and I are putting in a lot of hours at our respective jobs, which has really slowed the progress. I'd honestly hoped to have it done by MileHiCon, but that certainly isn't going to happen. Now I'm shooting for WorldCon 08.

That's an impressive collection of books J. Now if I managed to save all my books from when I began reading SF about 1970, at a book week I'd have something like almost 2000 SF books by now. Not to mention non fiction books. I had a lot of bookson WW2 in the 1970's and a substantial collection of Aleister Crowley and occult books in the early 1980's. Who says you can't eat books? Now that I'm married and have a little allowance I'm buying 1 book /week to recapture all those SF books I had to sell for food.
If I would have saved those SF books over 37 years would almost be about 2000 books. Of course Keth and I are the same age. Hey, I turn 55 on Tuesday :-)
Speaking about RPG's my wife and I are getting an LCD HDTV in the new year. A co worker has been praising the virtues of oblivion.
i thought you had a couple more bookcases...ha! what really sticks out is the FICTIONS book in the middle of the fourth bookcase's bottom shelf. i used that book for creative writing class in the spring of '89.
I think I picked that up from one of the Truongs...
