I'm closing The Genre Mall

With the new baby, a new job, and new responsibilities at Sam's Dot Publishing, I'm finding less and less time to write. Since I've always considered myself a writer, first and foremost, this is not a good thing.

After a lot of thought, I've decided that I'm going to close The Genre Mall. I've had a good time doing it, and we've sold a lot of magazines and books over the many years I've done it, but it just takes up too much of my time.

The official last day to make purchases at The Genre Mall will be March 31, 2011.

The Genre Mall

quick question - will links to the currently posted entries still be valid - will they still be active?

While I understand your commitments and time restraints, will our books be available through any other venues?

Gerry-The whole site will be coming down, so no, links will no longer work.

Penny-The Sam's Dot titles will be available at a new Sam's Dot bookstore. As far as other titles, they should still be available through their publishers.

So, when does the new site go up for the Sams Dot bookstore and when can we start replacing the old link to Genre Mall with the new link at SDP?

The new Sam's Dot Bookstore should go live at roughly the same time that The Genre Mall closes.

Genre Mall was nice for one-stop shopping of small press. I'm familiar with some of the publishers, but could you post a list of the major publishers that were on Genre Mall to refresh our memories, and we can track down their individual sites to check out. I'm afraid I don't remember the names of all of them.

And good luck on turning out more material. I enjoy your writing
