A sad day for geeks

Apparently Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax has died at the age of 69. He was apparently in bad health after suffering multiple strokes and heart attacks.

D&D is basically responsible for all of the RPGs that came later, and has given me many hours of enjoyment over the years.

If I can find more information, I'll post it...

Here's a link to an article on his passing...http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080304/ap_en_ot/obit_gygax.

It's hard to believe he was still hosting weekly gaming sessions just a couple of months ago.

Sad news indeed. In my 30's I recall many a great time playing D&D. My buddy has a D&D group he runs every Saturday.

You might have heard about the game "Chivalry and Sorcery" developed here in Edmonton in the mid 1970's.(I know the co designer quite well)C&S was to be the Advanced version to D&D but Gygax rejected it at Gen Con in 1976. Probably because of its cheesey packaging.

Sad news though about Gary Gygax passing away. I'll mentiion about it in my blog as well.
