Dead man walking

Why do we live in a world that makes money more important than happiness?

This job is slowly killing me...I'm so exhausted that I can't even sleep, and I don't think that makes sense...

I've always had a job since the middle 1960s. I could have gone to woodstock in 69, but I decided that I couldn't afford the day off. I have never had a job that I really liked.

Erica, my wife, started a job last monday. She just hates it. It sounds cool, she teaches pilots how to fly jets, but it is very high preassure already and she comes home from work exhausted, can't sleep and feels like crying when she has to go to work the next morning.

You have to remember that the only reason you work is so you can afford to go home. I've been layed off a number of times and have been out and out fire once. I was always better off for it. I always bounced back and got a better job. The job is not important, it is what the job buys you.

Just relax and think that "this too will pass" and you can make it. You've got another 20-30 years of jobs ahead of you. Don'r sweat it. The next job will come along and it will be a little better.

Look forward to those couple of months of unemplyment coming up when they finally sh--can you. It's paid vacation.

Hi guys:

Yeah, I work in the boiler room of all call centers up here. The economy is so hot right now some call centers had to close their doors because they couldn't staff people. There's tons of work at this place I work at and management would love me to work 12 hour days 6 days a week including Saturdays. What with my wife working being diabetic it's hard just to keep what we have going. We're not well off or anything but we're getting by. I could be pulling in $600/week if I wanted to but I'm not 30 years old anymore and time off at our age is more important then a job.

hang in there. Jobs are like a story to write, there's always another one around the corner.
