As Pink Floyd would say...

Is there anybody out there? For months I had people e-mailing me about doing a blog...and now I feel like Keith's the only one reading it. Is there anyone else out there?

As far as news in my life...nothing to report...just working a lot at that god awful hellhole of a job...but such is life...

J, would you believe it? I'm too old for Pink Floyd. Dark Side of the Moon came out around 1973, long after I had stopped buying rock albums. Their records before that stayed under my radar. In 1967 I was into Cream, Led Zepplin, Beatles, Zappa, and (of course) blues like Muddy Waters and B.B. King.
I now play poker with a bunch of guys every weekend, and a couple of them are about 10 years younger. Since there is a rule that we play on vinyl records during poker, these guys have brought in their old Floyd albums and I've heard most of the early ones. Some are good, some not so good. I am learning to like floyd. (At the same time I'm learning to hate Yes.)
One great (non-floyd) discovery is "King Crimsom" In the court of the Crimsom King. I had heard this record back in the 60's once or twice, but I had forgotten about it. If you can find King Crimsom anywhere, just get it. I am watching out for their other albums, but the first one is great.

King Crimson was a great band, as were all of the ones you mentioned.

Can't say I have a recolection of 1967...that was a couple of years before my time...but only a couple...

Here's a good one. Go to fripp.com -- this is Robert (King Crimson) Fripp's sister, the world-class motivational speaker, who grudgingly(?) has a link to her little brother's musical stuff.

How weird is that? Doesn't she know that for many people, Robert is the amazing guy they all look up to, and she's just weird?

Let me point out the frippicisms, too:
